Stencils
Stencils are ready-made shapes you can drop onto the canvas instead of drawing from scratch. The Stencils tab is in the left sidebar, next to Layers.
Using a stencil
- Choose a library from the picker at the top of the panel.
- Find the shape you want in the grid of thumbnails.
- Double-click it to place it on the canvas, or drag it to a position of your choice.
A stencil that is dropped onto the canvas becomes an ordinary object: it is editable, restylable and resizable exactly like something you drew yourself.
The bundled libraries
| Library | Contents |
|---|---|
| Arrows | Arrow shapes of many kinds — straight, bent, curved, block and multi-directional |
| Bubble & Bars | Speech and thought bubbles, clouds and banner ribbons |
| Cliparts | General-purpose illustrations — flowers, trees, flags, seasonal figures and more |
| Mosaic, Watermark, and Magnifier | Ready-made backdrop effect regions |
| Tags | Label and tag shapes |
The libraries that ship with Qwing are ordinary .zstencil files in the
application bundle. If no library is found, the panel says so rather than
showing an empty grid.
